I wanted to explain to the world where I've been and what's going on! We have had to struggle the last few years to get pregnant and stay pregnant, and we were finally able to make one stick! We're expecting, and due to the stress, physical nature of the designs I do, and the chemicals, I have put everything on hold until my little one arrives! Michael and I could not be more excited-- and we know it's a girl!!
I want to apologize for my absence, my neglect of Harrilu, and my subsequence disappearance from the world-- this has just been too important to mess with for us!
Our little bundle of joy is going to be arriving soon, and I finally feel just about finished with the preparations. I've been focusing my energy on staying healthy and decorating the nursery-- and thanks to so many generous friends and family members I think we're just about there. We still are in process of picking a name, so I'll have a few more touches once we're home with our little one and we pick a name.
Here's a few photos of our nursery. I went for a forest theme-- I painted the trees with my husbands help on the walls-- and incorporated a few animal silhouettes in vinyl and a few dimensional butterflies for texture. I went all-out girly in this room, but still left it open that if I changed out the curtains, a blanket and bedskirt, and maybe with a couple of other options, I could make it very boy too!
I made the lampshade to the green lamp with some organza flowers I made, painted a mirror from my sister with some polka dots, and created a toadstool table out of an upside-down pot and a big bowl fastened together with some heavy-duty glue and painted so I could hold up my humidifier-- there are a few other handmade touches in the room, and more to come I'm sure! I love decorating the nursery and I have definitely gone a bit overboard, but I've enjoyed every minute of it.
