Moving Picture Shows!

I'm so excited-- I just ordered my first ever camcorder. Sure, I have home movies and music videos from when I was 12-- dancing to Madonna and showing off my Dorothy Hamil haircut, but this will be my first ever purchase for the purpose of making 'moving pictures'--- I feel fancy!! And, this time, there won't be any lip-syncing or insulting use of Dippity Do-- I'm actually buying it for a purpose.

I got the super affordable and easy to use (point/click) Flip Ultra-- I can't wait to start using it. I have a few ideas and how-to's I am planning for my blog and flickr--  Even if I fail miserably (which could mean I just hate hearing my own voice-- thank goodness for voicemail vs answering machines-- ).. it is a super fashionable way to show off my new fancy digital self-- I got the orange one with matching usb cord and accessories.. I figured I may as well have fun with it!

Now, I just have to be patient enough to wait for it in the mail...

Phew!

Well, I'm back from USB (Urban Bazaar) and I had a ton of fun, but now feel like a donkey has been stomping on me for 2 days. Between the show (10-10pm) on Saturday, Mothers Day and getting orders together and packed up, I feel as though I've been thrown around a bit.

I had a blast with the rest of the Dallas Craft Mafia-- the chatting and goofing about really helped keep my spirits up in 90 degree weather. And, though it may sound trite, I really and truly loved putting faces with names of people I met, and just meeting new people! I would have liked to be a bit less sweaty and gnarly, but it was a really great day.

other things I found out-- I am a shop-a-holic who loves to buy gifts and jewelry.. I am still drooling over things I saw at the show from members of the Dallas Craft Mafia (Tara to the T /Texas Tarts/Brokn Doll/Enju/Chromosapien), Haute Hardware, and NerdBomber (cute recycled tshirt tote)-- I bought and traded for things, but there was a ton of great stationery, hats, jewelry,  tote bags, etc that I could have spent days !  Im going to try to take some photos and gather some good info to post to show off what I got..

Lilly Obsession

I'm obsessed with my Lillies. I had bought several bulbs about 3 yrs ago, but to my dismay they had only produced about 4 lillies (w/about 6 bulbs or so). This year I hit the motherload! These are all asian lillies, and for some reason I love them more than my hearty day lillies. I'm up to 16 now that vary in shades from light pink to flaming orange. I am not a patient person usually, but letting these little bulbs develop the last few years really has paid off. So, now my camera is full of lilly photos. I think I may be working on a few lilly items in the future, my notebook is covered in them :)

Harriet's Day

My dog is in a blog! Funny enough, I draw a lot of ideas from my crazy pets. Harriet and Pippa are both featured in some of my designs! They have a great sense of fun and play- and it is contagious!
